Save Lives in Yemen

Yemen, one of the world’s poorest countries, is facing catastrophic famine — perhaps the worst in our lifetimes according to the United Nations.

Make a BIG difference

According to the UN OCHA, in 2017 everyday 150 children under the age of 5 died in Yemen due to lack of access to food and medicine. That’s nearly 50,000 dead children in under 12 months. This year, the numbers will be even worse.

Penny Appeal is committed to alleviating the dire conditions faced by food-insecure families in Yemen. Our multifaceted approach involves not only providing nutritious meals but also supporting medical centers that are grappling with overwhelming challenges, including a shortage of trained staff and essential supplies.

Amid the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, we took proactive measures by distributing personal protective equipment (PPE) and hygiene kits to four health facilities in Amran Governorate. Moreover, we extended our assistance to two mobile medical teams in Taizz, focusing on delivering integrated nutrition and maternal and child health services.

Recognizing the critical issue of severe malnutrition among children, we are collaborating with partners to address this pressing concern. Our efforts include training healthcare workers to effectively treat malnutrition and ensuring the provision of essential supplies.

The combined impact of our medical aid initiatives and food packages is undeniably saving lives among displaced Yemenis, innocent victims of a conflict they did not initiate. However, the enormity of the crisis requires collective action. We implore you to join hands with us in this humanitarian mission—your support is crucial for the success of these vital initiatives. Together, we can make a tangible difference in the lives of those who desperately need our help.
